What is CreatorRoll?

CreatorRoll is an on-device utility designed for content creators who record multi-take video on iPhone. It automatically groups shoot takes together, suggests a keeper take, detects abandoned false starts for quick cleanup, and lets you protect shoots against accidental deletion. There is no account, no cloud upload, and no data tracking.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does CreatorRoll group video takes?

CreatorRoll uses local recording timestamps and video duration metadata directly from your Apple Photos library to identify related takes from the same shooting session. It presents the takes in an organized shoot group and suggests a keeper take to help you pick your final footage quickly.

What is false-start cleanup?

False starts are brief, aborted clips recorded when you stop and restart a take early. CreatorRoll highlights these short takes so you can review and delete them in bulk, reclaiming device storage immediately without manually sorting through every clip.

How do protected shoots work?

You can mark any shoot or video clip as protected. Protected items are locked and excluded from batch deletion suggestions, ensuring you do not accidentally remove important footage during quick cleanup sessions.

Are deleted videos permanently lost?

No. CreatorRoll requests deletions through iOS and the Apple Photos library, and each deletion requires system confirmation. Deleted clips are sent to the standard Recently Deleted album in Apple Photos, where you can recover them for up to 30 days. See Apple's guide to deleting and recovering photos and videos on iPhone.

Are my videos ever uploaded to the cloud or external servers?

Never. CreatorRoll operates entirely on-device with zero network access for media processing. Your videos, outtakes, and metadata never leave your iPhone. See our Privacy Policy.

How do I restore my CreatorRoll Pro subscription?

If you previously subscribed to CreatorRoll Pro on an iPhone, open CreatorRoll Settings and tap Restore Purchases. Ensure you are signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID. Restoring is free.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. To cancel or modify your subscription, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name (Apple ID) at the top, tap Subscriptions, select CreatorRoll, and choose Cancel Subscription. To prevent renewal charges, cancel at least 24 hours prior to the end of your trial or current period. See Apple's guide to cancelling a subscription.
