What it does
- Grouping shoot takes with a suggested keeper: Organizes consecutive video takes from the same shoot together and suggests a keeper take, helping you quickly identify the preferred take without scrubbing through endless duplicates.
- False-start cleanup: Identifies and highlights brief, abandoned false starts so you can discard ruined takes immediately and free up device storage.
- Protected shoots: Mark important shoots or takes as protected to guard them against accidental deletion during cleanup sessions.
- Safe deletions via Apple Photos: Any take you choose to remove is sent through Apple Photos to your Recently Deleted album, remaining recoverable for 30 days.
- 100% on-device privacy: Everything runs locally on your iPhone. CreatorRoll has no servers, requires no account, collects no analytics, and never uploads your video footage.
- Pricing: Free download with core shoot organization and cleanup features. CreatorRoll Pro offers an auto-renewing subscription via the App Store (StoreKit 2) for unlimited shoot management.
Frequently asked questions
What is CreatorRoll?
CreatorRoll is an iPhone app built for content creators to manage video shoots and clean up outtakes on-device. It groups shoot takes, suggests a keeper, helps clean up false starts, and protects your favorite shoots.
How does shoot take grouping work?
CreatorRoll analyzes video recording timestamps and metadata locally on your device to organize takes from the same session together. It highlights a suggested keeper take to make choosing your final footage quick and straightforward.
What happens when I delete outtakes?
CreatorRoll never permanently deletes videos directly. All deletions are requested through the system Apple Photos library and require your confirmation. Deleted videos are moved to the standard Recently Deleted album in Apple Photos, where you can recover them for up to 30 days.
Does CreatorRoll upload my videos?
No. CreatorRoll performs all video analysis and shoot organization entirely on your iPhone. There are no remote servers, no user accounts, and no analytics frameworks. Your video files never leave your device.
