Terms of Use

1. Software License

Subject to these terms, you are granted a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run VaultBridge on your compatible macOS devices solely for your personal or internal business workflows.

2. User Responsibility & Review Requirement

VaultBridge provides automated detection and placeholder substitution for sensitive text and data in documents. You acknowledge and agree that:

• Detection is Not Guaranteed: Automated detection algorithms, pattern matchers, and machine learning models are inherently imperfect and may fail to identify all personal information, confidential identifiers, or regulated records.
• Mandatory Pre-Sharing Review: You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all masked output before sharing, transmitting, or uploading it to Claude, any other artificial intelligence service, or any third party.
• Assumption of Risk: You assume full responsibility and all associated risk for any data shared with third parties or external AI models through or in connection with the software.

3. No Professional, Legal, or Medical Advice

VaultBridge is a document productivity and text processing utility. It does not provide legal, financial, tax, healthcare, compliance, or regulatory advice. The software is not certified under statutory compliance frameworks (such as HIPAA or GDPR). You remain solely responsible for ensuring that your handling of documents complies with applicable laws, regulations, professional confidentiality rules, and contractual obligations.

4. Third-Party AI Services (Anthropic Claude)

VaultBridge provides an optional local Model Context Protocol (MCP) server designed to interface with your own local Claude application (such as Claude Desktop or Claude Code). When you send text to Claude, that interaction is subject to Anthropic's terms and privacy policies. Quan Dang is not affiliated with Anthropic, does not control Anthropic's systems, and is not responsible for Anthropic's service availability, data practices, or responses.

5. Third-Party Models & Open-Source Notices

VaultBridge incorporates or references certain open-source machine learning models, datasets, and wordlists:

• GLiNER Named Entity Recognition Model: The bundled on-device GLiNER small model (authored by Urchade Zaratiana, Nadi Tomeh, Pierre Holat, and Thierry Charnois) is licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0.
• DeBERTa v3 Backbone: The DeBERTa v3 small backbone model weights (Microsoft Corporation) are licensed under the MIT License.
• Bundled Wordlists: Dictionary and proper name lists are derived from public domain and BSD-2-Clause sources (FreeBSD dictionary, US Social Security Administration, and US Census Bureau).

The licence texts for the bundled models are included in the app at Contents/Resources/LICENSES/.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use VaultBridge only for lawful purposes in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application or its bundled components, except and only to the extent permitted by applicable law. Open-source components are governed by their own licences, and nothing in these terms limits your rights under them.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VaultBridge is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. Quan Dang expressly disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that VaultBridge will meet your requirements, operate without interruption, be error-free, or detect every sensitive entity or identifier.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Quan Dang be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, loss of profits, disclosure of confidential information, regulatory fines, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use VaultBridge, regardless of the theory of liability.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms of Use from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of VaultBridge after updated terms are published constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
