Three presets: Light (best quality, larger file), Standard (balanced), and Maximum (smallest file). You can also customize image quality, resolution, and grayscale conversion in the advanced settings.
Compression works by reducing image resolution and quality within the PDF. Text-heavy documents may see minimal size reduction. For scanned documents and image-heavy PDFs, you can achieve 80-95% file size reduction.
If compression produces a file that is not significantly smaller (less than 2% reduction), the app automatically keeps your original file and labels it "Original kept" in the history.
Yes. When selecting files, choose multiple PDFs and the app will compress them in batch with a progress indicator for each file.
After compression, tap "Share Compressed PDF" on the results screen. You can also tap the share icon next to any file in your history list.
Yes. Tap any file in your history to open a full-screen preview. You can also compare the original and compressed versions from the compression results screen.
Yes. Swipe right on any file in the history list and tap "Rename," or long-press and select "Rename" from the context menu.
No. All processing happens entirely on your device. Your documents never leave your iPhone or iPad. The app works completely offline.
Swipe left on any file to delete it, or use Edit mode to select and delete multiple files. You can also clear all history from Settings.
Yes. Smart PDF Compressor is a universal app that runs natively on both iPhone and iPad.
